So i went to download the beta of a new game called "Ironbound" ">https://www.ironboundgame.com/[/url] and the download speed quickly dropped from an initial 70kb/s (yes bits not bytes ^^) to 8kb/s reporting an 8 hour download time for a 108MB file???

tried dropping and resuming the download (same result) and restarting it from the website again (same result) and even switched from my Skinny BB to a VF "Fixed wireless" and then a 2D iPhone hotspot with roughly the same results ever time!

Finally in frustration I switched on my PIA VPN and connected to their California server and downloads ramped up to 700+KB/s immediately! (ruling out serverside overload issue?)

I have now finished downloading the Beta in roughly 3 minutes instead of 8 hours.

Why on earth could this actually have happened this way???

That can happen, i commonly see it on VF routing, not often on spark

Personally testing here, i have a 1.7MB/s and 2.6MB/s DL on the default link
