With Spark.
Had fibre connected for about 2 months.
On the connection day and again when testing now (2 months later) I am only getting 91/16 readings. This is with Wifi turned off in the HG659b router and with a LAN cable of 1m in length plugged directly into router. I also conducted the test using both the Speedtest desktop app and the the Spark linked Speedtest via a browser tab.
The Chorus technician (Vision stream) who did the installation said (at the time we both tested the speeds when he completed the installation) that we should be getting 100/20 as a minimum. He had an app on his phone that he is required to use to test his splices (all readings were within tolerance) and the results of those tests get sent to Chorus. But he also said the app showed him other statsitices, one of which he said showed that Chorus had the power set too high on the splitter output at the exchange. He said if Chorus lowered that our Speedtests would acheive 100/20.
He further advised that Chorus should fix this when he submits his app results as they will see the issue from his readings, but 2 months later it has not changed.
So should I be expecting 100/20 as per what I signed up with Spark for?
Needless to say Spark want nothing to do with this. They will not even let me email them my Speedtests results and nor will they contact Chorus to ask them about what their technician said. Spark said they consider they are honouring the product they sell if a customer gets anywhere from 50% to 80% of the promoted speed rate of 100/20 - really, WTF!
