So we are moving offices and hoping to trade from the new office come last day of June.

As part of the Lease the very very very very first thing was to lodge the consents with Chorus (through the landlord) so we could get the ball rolling. While at the start the building came up as a MDU which Visonstream quickly noticed and threw back to Chrorus as a single-dwelling install that delayed us by a few days.

Just had the scoping done today with the friendly Chorus installer who pulled the fibre straight to the front door. He believes its an "afternoon-job" as we have suspended ceilings etc. which makes the install pretty straightforward.

So checked with our Provider (Inspire) and been advised that install is scheduled 24 July. Now that's a great Birthday Present but 4 weeks after we are set to move in.

Now before anyone jumps on the bandwagon, I know EVERYONE wants their Fibre installed right this very minute so I'm not trying to 'get it just to have it right now'. However as there is zero copper in the building (which means no short term ADSL, VDSL option) and we operate a non-stop service with VOIP telephony its not quite as easy as throwing in a 4G router and hoping for the best (however we may well need to look at that as an option).

Has anyone had experience with accelerating a UFB install with a valid reason (as in no copper-fallback and a short window to occupation date)?

There are methods to expedite an install with a valid reason. Your reasons, however, are not nearly serious enough to meet the criteria.

Is there not even a copper DP close by? Or is it a whole subdivision/development without copper?

I would be tempted to hang a service lead out the window as you should be able to get some DSL on in a few days.

Edit: Actually, just thinking, are you in Palmy? If so, what about a wireless connection to Inspire? Never ideal running VoIP on a wireless service but definitely works OK if it's the only option.

Completely understand, not a life or death thing merely a question of wether it could be accelerated under the conditions in play. Like most things in life there is always someone with a greater need.

Standalone building. Copper there right next to green fibre lead-in. Previous tenants ripped everything out so it can be reconnected but thought fibre install might be quicker than reconnecting copper, may be mistaken in my assumption though.

4 weeks is a decent amount of time.

If it were me I would throw a cable out the window next to that DP. Place an order for some DSL and have it installed "with wiring" so that a tech turns up. Then make sure you are the contact so you can be there when they turn up and talk them in to connecting it temporary.

This is unfortunately the situation in Palmy at the moment, wait times are at the 7 week mark now, irrespective of how straight forward your install is.

If you put any Palmerston North address into the Chorus address checker you get:
