Hi all,

I'm currently on Vodafone FibreX Cable 200/20. I am probably moving house in August assuming all the sale stuff happens as it's supposed to. If it does our new house in Riverstone Terraces has UFB availability but not cable. What are my options for similar speed / price? Are Vodafone likely to price match if I stick with them?

VodafoneNZ don't own the UFB network like they do the HFC (FibreX) network so price matching to the FibreX network I am sure will not be possible

You could probably get a deal with another provider for fibre similar to (or better than) what you're currently paying Vodafone for cable.

I highly doubt that, I pay $49.98/month for 200/20 cable

Yeah I understand that. I am going to ring them and see if they will cut me a deal anyhow.

If I don't go with Vodafone, what are some good options?

Anyway, there are plenty of providers who offer UFB. Broadband Compare is one site on here that has a comparison tool, Glimp is another one I know of.

I just tried the Broadband Builder on the Vodafone website using an on-account mobile with no TV/landline (cable internet only) and the best price I could get was $69.99 per month.

Remember.... all the ufb connections have a wholesale cost of about $44/month.... so $70 is borderline loss making unless they can sell you other stuff as well.

Yes, I get $20/month loyalty discount and $10/month discount because my work phone is through Vodafone.

Fair enough, so how much is a good deal on 100/20 UFB then? I'm happy to drop from 200/20 since FibreX doesn't really perform that well anyhow. Bigpipe seem reasonable.

How about broadbandmap.nz? Would trust the Chorus checker over any other comparison site - especially that broadbandcompare one.
