Hi
Chorus have told me that my street has fibre and I can apply for an NGA connection.
I saw a post here asking for contacts on how to do this but it is now locked.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please and also give a rough order if magnitude as to costs?

Thanks

Ask your ISP for a NGA on application.

Typically tens (or hundreds) of thousands of dollars. Occasionally if you're in the right area, it will only be a few thousand.

Freind went thru the quote process, $18k. They declined and bought some unifi gear to link to another place that had normal UFB available.

What is the range of that stuff? Wonder if one located at my place would reach down to you (I guess not)?

Are you IN zone for UFB? (even in the future) in most cases its probably not worth considering this unless you are not in a UFB zone.

Usually waiting is the option. However if they are not going to offer NGA to where you live, then it would perhaps be worthwhile finding out the cost. I have seen quotes range from about 7K -> 20K -> 35K -> 101K

So yeh its not cheap.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Do you have to get fibre? Would fast VDSL or wireless suffice?

CFH is scheduled to release the RBI2 plans next month. It might be worthwhile to see what's planned for your area first.
