Hello,

Apologies if this has already been covered, but is it possible to add Blackberry dataplan figures to nzconnection?

I'm an expat Kiwi, but will be returning to NZ for good in Aug of 08.

Somehow I think I will be paying a little more than the USD$20.00 for unlimited BIS that I am currently subscribed to.

I've been on the voda NZ site, and have seen their rates, but assume Telecom or perhaps another carrier offers BIS/BES at a slightly more competitve rate?

If not, does anyone know (feel free to speculate) - are these voda prices likely to remain as high as they are currently?

Thanks

Robbie.

Unfortunately our pricing is not going to be as competitive as it is abroad. However I am pretty impressed with the pricing that the Vodafone brought out, on the new BIS plans. I was only on that a few months ago and found it was rather expensive only for a 3mb cap but now it has changed. I now run Windows Mobile, on the 200MB plan for $39.95, I barely use 100 MB in the month with constant use of push email etc. But yeah would be good to add these on the site.

Thanks Andy,

That's encouraging news.  I checked the voda NZ site, but it seems down right now so I'll check it again in a few hours.  Yes, the plan I was looking at previously was a few months ago so glad to hear it's changed.

I typically use 25-30 mb per month, but that's due to 3rd party apps such as Viigo, Opera Mini, Telenav, etc.  I see the Voda BIS plan previously only covered email and blackberry browser, any other use of the voda apn was billed separately.  I hope this has changed/is changing too.

Rgds,

Robbie.

Telecom offer the following:
Data Plan
15MB
50MB
150MB
400MB
Monthly cost (inc GST)
$34.99
$39.99
$44.99
$79.99
These plans can be used with BIS or BES, or both running at the same time.

Thanks cokemaster.

I see voda are are only offering 10mb at NZD$35 (or 100mb at NZD$45).

So Telecom is cheaper.

But.... Can a Telecom GSM sim be purchased?  Sorry for all the questions, I have been away for a long time.

I note they are talking about dual CDMA/GSM phones, but I read this as it will operate on the CDMA network while in NZ, GSM abroad.

My current BB is GSM and is unlocked, so I was going to bring it back with me.

Cheers,

Robbie.

As I'm refreshing the Internet Plan Comparisons page, I'm going to add a BIS comparison page - coming soon.
