I do like Full Flavour's service, and they've been largely trouble-free as my ISP. But I'm thinking from a brief look around, that I'm no longer on a competitive deal. I can get $4 off per month by signing another term contract with FF, but meh to being locked into an ISP again, without any more substantial reward than $4 less per month.

I'm happy with around 100/30. I don't need gigabit. I already fail to max out my bandwidth most of the time.

Any current sweet sign up deals with other Fibre ISPs you'd point me towards, or a lower monthly price?

Thoughts?

Check out the major ISP's websites but if you want a sweet deal like free credit and new modems you will generally need to sign a 12 month contract term

Vodafone, Spark, 2Degrees are doing some nice deals also check out Bigpipe

Well, I'm not keen on Stuff's parent company, and I heard bad things about Trustpower's fibre a while back. But I'm already a Trustpower power customer (I'm in Tauranga, so the TECT cheque equalises my price for the best I can get elsewhere being stuck without a smart meter), so if they no longer suck, I'm not adverse to being with them for less than I currently pay. Though I'm not sure they are less by my checking. I get a free TV, but that's nothing to write home about.

There is not much margin in broadband, so harder for smaller ISP's to compete on price. I do a lot of install and other work for Full Flavour and where we differ to the bigger ISP's is we can be more flexible or tend to a wider range of issues. E.G. We do a few rural broadband installs that are outside official coverage; where Vodafone would say no, but we will say "lets see if we can provide a solution here". I've also helped Full Flavour customers sort out broadband wiring or upgraded their Wi-Fi, used different routers or VoIP phones etc. to meet their requirements. All of those extra things that are harder to do or get good support from the big player that cater to the masses.

So yes you may shave a few $$ through a cheaper provider; but if you want to know that the extra support is there if you need it or just want to support a local company, then Full Flavour are a great choice!

I too can recommend Voyager, great price great service. Recently had an issue when a dummy on a digger cut our fibre, took down our whole lane way, everyone reported it to their ISP's, Voyager was the first to log it with Enable by far. Also competitive prices and good speeds, haven't had anything to do with their phone service however so can't comment on that side.

No Voyager in my area.

I do agree I've been impressed with Full Flavour's support over the few years I've been with them. I've also had good network performance. If money were not a consideration, I'd have no qualms about sticking with them.
