What's the going rate to colo a 1RU server in Auckland? Not interested in Sky Tower. No resellers either.

Thanks :-)

Between $170 to $250ish depending on where you co-locate. If you're going on the cheap then https://hd.net.nz/datacentre-services/colocation (Note: I don't endorse them, they're cheap but I know people who have servers with them who say it is fine).

Thanks for your suggestion.

I am aware of HD but they do not fit my objectives.

I have my VDSL with Inspire and they are the sort of ISP I have confidence in but they appear to me to charge a Palmerston North premium. In any case I don't need 4RU. (their minimum space).

I know they're a reseller but maybe as Solarix? I know Unleash used to have space in Palmy and had provided a few customers with a single 1U slot.

Solarix don't meet my objectives but I will have a look at Unleash. Thanks for that.

What about advantage computers?

...pretty sure that's where Unleash had their space.

Thanks for that.

I discussed this with them some time ago and looking back on the email at the time, they were a bit overpriced.

Looking at another email in 2014 I see their offer was, like, 10mbps bandwidth and 10Gb international for some high price, which was pretty uncompetitive even for 4 years ago.

I'm thinking more like a Gbps port and fair use. That should be pretty standard now?

At present my main stuff is colocated in Auckland and in terms of the network there is no better reason to locate in PN. Only benefit of PN is it's closer and I'm not paying a premium for that.
