Hi Guys, I am currently using spark 200 Mbps @ $124 per month and is on contract (Location Auckland, Botany). Looking at other option I see Spark is way expensive and even if I break contract  ($200 fine) I can move to other ISP like Orcon and save money in long run. I don't have any landline or lighthouse streaming service use as Netflix & amazon prime is more than enough. So just checking if switching provider makes sense and services from Orcon or any other provider good enough?

That's super expensive for 200Mbps.  My gig unlimited service with Orcon is $99 per month.  Orcon's physical service is brilliant. I've never had a good experience with their support, but they're based in NZ now instead of overseas and I haven't needed to talk to them since that change was made, so maybe better now.  But when it works and you don't need support, the service is great for the price!

Talk to them first. They will probably offer you a new deal that will save you the contract fee.

I did, but they didn't seem to be interested in doing anything. IMO it all depends on the attitude of the person on the other side. I doesn't add any incentive to them to hold on to their customer I guess.

I am not surprised while you are under a contract term

Next month I'll consider moving or changing plan (with Orcon)...

I found it absurd that one can get Gigantic Fibre unlimited for $109.95/m as new customer with 1 year contract, or $99.95 with 2 year contract

But if an existing customer try to upgrade existing 100/20 to Gigantic you looking at $129.95/m with 1 year contract (from MyOrcon => upgrade)

On the other hand, Skinny offering Unlimited Fibre Ultra for $98/m with 1 year contract. Skinny's 200/20 plan is $88/m with 1 year contract. All significantly cheaper than $124/m you paying spark.

Call them.  I was on the same plan as you, still in contract period.  They cancelled it, and signed me up to a new 24 month contract at the new price with no penalties.
