We moved from trustpower ADSL(13mbps) to UFB(100/20) but since the move the speed is terible we have a couple of tv's on netflix a tablet, laptop and few phones.

Have doubled checked all settings router is netcomm wireless NF15ACV speedtest gives expected results (98/20)but page load times is really terrible quite often timing out just on local stuff/trademe. Even cable connected TV sits there spooling regularly on netflix!!

Any suggestions appreciated was thinking of acquiring a different router to try!!

Having experienced that router with their firmwar myself, i'd look at trying another...

it's wireless performance is ok, can test well but does exactly as you describe... randomly times out.

I've yet to put my finger on why exactly it is so bad, at first i thought it to be environmental eg. channels, but playing with channels, bandwidth and power made no real difference to the periods of "pausing"

Did you change your router configuration so that it makes use of DHCP instead of PPPoE?  Trustpower uses DHCP for UFB services.

cheers

That's not the problem OP's having. If that setting is wrong OP won't be getting any internet at all.

On Trustpower, PPPoE sessions will come up on UFB, however they will have their speed limited, and will be assigned a CGN IP address.

Yes it is setup using IPoE with DHCP.
Made sure wireless is on different channels to the neighbors. The lounge TV is connect via cable straight to router and also gets spooling issues.

I have ordered a used Fritzbox 7490 to try see if i get different results.

The real strange thing, this is the same router than has been used for last year on ADSL with slowdowns but i thought that was from multiple users overloading the ADSL(13mbps) circuit but now even the trademe app on my phone keeps having timeouts

Hey David,

Sorry to hear you are having troubles, it is possible that your NF15ACV is running an older firmware so would be worth getting in touch with our Tech Support Team and asking for them to check this.

Some of the older firmwares experienced issues specifically on UFB where it worked fine on ADSL/VDSL.
Failing this, we also possibly could look replacing this with an NF18ACV to test as well.

Alternatively, feel free to PM me your details and I can organise someone to give you a call at a time that suits you best, or if you have any further issues feel free to reach out to me via PM directly

Thanks, Tane

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Thanks for reply
I have checked and NF15ACV is running the latest trustpower firmware available. The Fritzbox should be here in the next couple of days so will see what difference that makes
