So I have been with BigPipe for a few years now. When I joined the pricing was good, I got a static IP address in case I needed it for very little, and the support options didn't worry me.

Now, three years later, I have found have never had a need for the static IP address, the support is less than stellar when it really matters (though I have learnt what to do in those situations), IPv6, which I rather liked having, has gone bye-bye, and I am on the same network as Skinny, who appear to have phone support and are over $30 per month cheaper for the "gigabit" plan.

So I ask, what is the point of BigPipe now? Do they just want people to change to Skinny or what?

With Bigpipe but have looked at skinny, although it's cheap i don't think i can deal with an HG659 (forced modem by skinny) again, had terrible Wifi or was my experience an outlier?

I already have the HG659 from BigPipe so that does not worry me. The wifi seems more than adequate for the needs of my flat but I cannot say that it is stellar.

You can use another modem.. they just wont give you any support for connection issues
