Local cabinet has VDSL I was wondering would it be possible to get it with the following line information. I do have an old master splitter but am planning on disconnecting all cables. And running a new direct cable to a new phone jack for the modem. Cheers

Yes I have. Is this site hard and fast accurate. Can I get a line check to confirm availability?

What does the Chorus site say?

If it says no the answer is no. While VDSL2 may be possible based, on your line stats it's likely to deliver performance that would be similar or even worse than your current ADSL2+

Absolutely, just ask your broadband provider for a pre-qualification.

Prequal won't give results that are any different to the Chorus site - it just gives slightly more detail.

Not always, particularly with rural lines.

at 20dB, Your going to be pushing your luck a little.

If you do manage VDSL, you will be about 19/1

@OP I'm happy to get a manual prequal ran for you next week..

try re-cabling the run and see if that improves the noise level, then came back with the NEW stats.

i am assuming you are in an older house with cat 3/4 phone cabling at the moment hence the mention of a new cable run. re terminate all connection to the best of your or a friends ability remembering every join will induce extra noise and thus reduce any gains.

Yeah it's quite old. I'm in the process of networking out the house so will be running a new cat 6 from the overhead line termination box and will punch down to new cat 6 jack. And scotch lock the outdoor end. Will see what improvements can be made. Cheers Andrew

since you are going through the process of a re-cable, try and keep your VDSL line away from as much power cable as possible to remove the Mains interference interference possibility.

FYI...

With a new cat6 cable run and a new cat6 outlet I was able to get VDSL connected at 27/3.6 a decent improvement from ADSL2+ 16/1
