Hi all

I live in a private subdivision - the owners "jointly" own the main private road in. We have fibre being installed all around us at the moment (public roads etc) but it seems there is no sign of digging or cables being laid around us. I've tried searching but what is the go for having fibre installed for us? Will I need to apply for consent from all of the subdivision owners to have fibre run to my property?

My parents have very recently built a private subdivision here on the North Shore

They contacted @ChorusNZ (via phone) before services were put the down the new road and it was a very simple process (Yes it did cost them) but all properties now have fibre to the gate

I'd recommend contacting the Chorus Subdivision Group to discuss your options. Their contact details are here: https://www.chorus.co.nz/contact/new-property-development

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough for the 2 replies above, the subdivision currently exists already, its a lifestyle block with sections from 1 - 3 Ha.

I'm in Taupo, the chorus website shows the whole subdivision as 1Gbps by Sept 2019.

Ive uploaded a screen shot of the map below, not sure if its working.

I live on a private road, and the fruits did our area in sept/oct. They don’t do private roads or streets, as a standard practice.

To get a private road done, someone in our street had to order Fibre. Then everyone else had to not object - which in our case no-one did. So #2 ordered Fibre (from Voyager, but anyone will do), then Chorus sent out objection forms, when the deadline passed they scheduled the work.

So, order Fibre and let the fun begin.

Hey timmay556, if you live on a private subdivision then we likely won’t be building any network into it as part of the UFB rollout. Once the rollout is complete in your area, as BlinkyBill has said, someone will need to order Fibre to get the ball rolling. We’ll then go through a standard consent and build process. Much like we do for Right of way/shared driveways. You can read more about it on our website here: https://www.chorus.co.nz/help-and-support/consent-access.

Of course every job is slightly different so if you would like to send us a direct message with your full address I’d be happy to check the facts for you on Monday. ^Richard.

Hi,

I live in the same roll out area and also down a long driveway. I am also keen to know the specifics of an install at my place, @Chorus is it okay if I PM my details for you to look into ?

Thanks

Warren
