In addition to the billing debacle which I posted about yesterday, HD Net has gone one better.
I've been on a 100/100 plan from Unlimited Internet for $79/month since March.
I'm moving house soon. I opened my second ticket with HD Net (the parent company I think) yesterday, to move the service to my new home, where fibre is installed.
They came back today with this:
Unfortunately we have retired the 100/100 plan, the next best plan for $79.00 is the 100/20 plan. A one off connection fee of $39.00 will apply to connect the new service at (where I'm moving to).
Please let us know if you want us to place the order?
When HD Net emailed UL customers saying they were taking over the billing, there was no mention that this plan would be dropped.
So $79/month which got me 100/100 with Unlimited Internet, will only get me 100/20 with HD Net! And I had to pay $39 for the privilege of being moved and downgraded.
Unbelievable! I had to read the email several times to be sure I understood them correctly. I went back to them and asked what would have happened if I wasn't moving. Never mind.
I've gone back, cancelled the move, cancelled the current service, and threatened merry hell if they complain about a lack of notice. They retired the plan without notice, for f's sake.
They still have my last payment to Unlimited Internet which I've insisted they refund, rather than crediting it to the next HD invoice.
I won't even call them Muppets because I liked the Muppets. (Particularly Animal on the drums)
Shame about the $45 I paid way back for a fixed IP address....
Let this be over soon!!
Help me out folks, where should send my broadband spend now?
