Hello wondering if someone can give me some information on my tone graph

I moved my modem to the mushroom to take out 280m of cabling  but it didn't seem to make much difference to my upload

@hio77 did a similar thing IIRC. 26dB downstream attenuation looks to still be a pretty long line, so 280m may not have been much percentage wise.

i believe the distance to exchange is around 1100m

and i decided to move it close just to try to get some more upload speed

i actually never finalized it. i laid all the runs, extended my network a ton but when i was doing the roadside ETP, a pretty decent WISP moved into the area.

My line was close on identical to OP's, it syncs 27/4 roadside. which is nice... but comparing that to 150/50 with more coming later easy choice.

Also alot easier maintenance wise, since i'm not always here.

Hold up, is that screenshot at the mushroom? if so drop back to ADSL2+...

The adsl2+ was only synced at 14mb/s whereas this one synced at 21mb/s

i might see if i have some better quality rj11 leads around home or ill make up some at work  and see if that improves it

Failing that might just have to push bank manager for the 130k for fibre to get done 😂

It’s all about the Error Free Throughput.
The gain of 7mbps from adsl to vdsl is not useful if it is destroying TCP due to retransmissions.

You’d need to do some detailed analysis to know which is better. Not handy for an end user, unfortunately, but as only as you get over 14mbps and close to 19mbps on actual speed tests, you’re OK on VDSL

Then there is the question of making it better....
Pretty unlikely on a 1.1km loop, sorry to say.
Any in home wiring improvements will probably help. But don’t set your expectations too high :)
