I was just looking at my VDSL stats and noticed that I'm getting around 20k FECs a second on the downstream link. I've heard that as much as a few thousand a minute isn't unheard of, but ~20,000 a second seems a bit high. Note that that's DS only, US is zero (or at least the change in the figure is zero). Any idea what could be causing this?

Following up to my own post, a simple reboot fixed it, I'm now sitting at zero FECs. I hadn't even considered doing that because it seemed too simple to produce much of a result... now I'm even more curious about what could cause 20k/second, dropping to zero just by rebooting.
