If you don't need unlimited then maybe consider one of the 4G options? Otherwise your not really going to get cheaper than you are on now

Only alternative is if you go through something like broadband compare our glimp you might be able to get a few months free or for half price on a slightly more expensive than your have now. Overall it will work out cheaper but not by much. Often there's orcon or stuff fibre for 3 months free or 6 months half price, just add up the body of the entire contract to see the effective monthly cost.

If $73 per month is too expensive, what is your budget then?

Since you said you're looking for the cheapest fibre broadband and you appear to be looking for the absolute lowest price regardless of other factors (customer service, unlimited data, etc.), if a 30/10 plan is acceptable and you can keep your usage in check, WorldNet offers their version of Spark's Unplan called Scalable Fibre starting at $55/month for up to 60GB of usage (60 to 120GB is $65/month and >120GB of usage is $75 per month).  WorldNet also has another plan offering 200GB of usage on the 30/10 speed tier for $59/month.  All prices include GST.

Econofibre that Linux linked to is another brand of WorldNet.  If you're looking for the 100/20 speed tier and unlimited data, it's probably not going to get much (if any) cheaper than this over a 12 month term unless you try some of the other options mentioned such as sharing an internet connection with your neighbours and splitting the cost (but of course there are downsides to this option that would be a non-starter for many here).

Edit: spelling

Given how many people are so reliant on internet these days (even those who don't really think they are), for me whilst I completely understand money doesn't grow on trees, a few dollars saved could end up a false economy if your connection or support for your connection isn't as good as you may need.

Personally, given the savings between what you are paying now, and what you could potentially pay if you went the lowest possible option, I'd imagine you could more easily find $20 in savings elsewhere.

In my younger years before I purchased my place, I negotiated to mow our own lawns which the landlord had built $15 a week into the rent for, stuff like that.

Seriously, stick with Skinny.

Don't pick broadband providers based on price as I see it as an essential service. With electricity, it is totally fine but unless if you want rubbish speeds / support then go with a provider that works for your needs and don't base it on price.
