When chorus runs fibre to the house is it recorded as a service on council plans or just on Chorus records?. I have a rough idea where the trench is , if anyone extended the property how would they know where the cable is laid? . I’m looking at extending and thinking the new foundations would be over the cable. Can a new run be run from the street point around the structure or does it need to be dug up and rerun? . How would builders know where fibre cable has been run to the house?

The fibre on the street is definitely on on the GIS as it is infrastructure on public land however I doubt that the fibre is marked on the house / section plans.

To confirm the exact location of the existing fibre on your property you will need to get cable locators in, someone here hay be able to assist https://www.beforeudig.co.nz/locator/certified-locators/certified-locators-in-nz

Nope but the SAMID for that address has an “ONT Present” message attached to it in Chorus records

I think homes.co.nz, Oneroof, Trademe Property etc use that data to display fibre present when you search houses on those sites

I doubt it - what would they record "nailed to neighbours fence" for 90% of installations? :P

BeforeUdig sends out old maps from the Telecom days, only showing the ducting that is in the street - and for only copper of course. I would not bother with their online maps, however, I would - as @SATTV said - contact a local cable locator guy to help you find the fibre. Finding where the drop point from the street to your property would, in this case, be ideal as you can then visualise the path it takes underground to your ETP.
