Hi there, is there any different between a 2c and 2 telephone socket?

The original 2 wire sockets (2) still had a capacitor to allow old 3 wire phones to ring. Later 2 wire sockets (2c) don't have the capacitor as it is not often needed.

Either are fine for broadband - If you still have a retro phone and a landline you need the 2 not the 2c for it to ring (by retro I mean pre 1995)

Often these days a newer house has the 2 wires going to an RJ45 outlet that works on the more modern phones. When you get fibre the copper landline becomes obsolete and they should rewire it to an outlet next to the fibre or router so you can liven up the landline phones from the router's voip output.





Time to find a new industry!
