Hi there

Wondering if anyone else is affected by the large Chorus outage affecting west Auckland.
My fibre has been down since just after 3PM yesterday (Wednesday).
No sign of service anytime soon.
Also getting conflicting details as to the nature of the outage.
Wondering if anyone has any details.

Thanks

Have you gone straight to the source? https://www.chorus.co.nz/outages

We got a letter from Vector advising of road works on Hobsonville Road (can't remember the dates)... I wonder if they hit a fibre before even beginning... 😬

So far this is the third theory.
I am adding it to:
- City Rail work / cable damage
- rodent damage

"“Most likely by a rodent, based on similar damage we have seen elsewhere,” Pettigrew said."

Amused me greatly - if you have read the Harry Potter books or seen the movies, Peter Pettigrew transformed into the rat Scabbers to go into hiding for years

You would think when this problem keeps repeating itself, someone would have figured out how to engineer a repulsive to rats flavoured cable, maybe with a touch of poison.
