Hi all,

Just been cruizing this site: http://www.broadbandmap.govt.nz/map/ and after zooming in on my area and clicking on Telecom Group: Fibre optic network I see that there is fibre at the end of our road?!? Im in Baddeley Ave, Kohimarama, Auckland near Allum Street.

What does this mean for me? Can I get the footpath dug up so I can get fibre??? (probably a pretty dumb question but how do I find out)

All help greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Chris

With the exception of the new FTTH subdivisions Telecom don't provide residential fibre connectivity.

Telecom have 1000's of km's of fibre in NZ. Just because fibre is running past your house doesn't mean you can just run a length to your house and connected to the internet. It's not quite that simple unfortunately.

It's likely the fibre is going to cabinets - the stuff going past the end of our road is.
