I've downloaded DMT tools but the firmware in my Thompson TG585 modem is not compatible, so im just wondering what modem is recomended for use with DMT tools, preferable a wireless one.

RTA 1025W is compatible. As well as all other Dynalink and netcomm hardware I've tested.

Did you get much of an improvement in the connect rate with the Dynalink modem?

You can see good gains with dmt tools. I have a dynalink 1025w as well.

in the past I have had gains of up to 600kbps download

All DMT tools does is decrease your SNR margin, you can do this manually with telnet.
