I am thinking of switching Broadband supplier. I am looking for advice on which supplier might be best for my needs. At present I am with Orcon but now that Aussies are taking over it might be a good time to investigate market. Currently I am on Unlimited Gigantic Fibre with VOIP phone. My current bill is around $108 per month.

Any suggestions on where I can get a good deal with similar costing or better to above. I tried looking at Voyager for instance (mainly for old times sake) but their website does not give any pricing for various speed options, unless they are offering same price for all speeds which seems unlikely.

Thanks

Voyager give you options for different speed. Their pricing I think is the same as orcon's. You might need their router though.

I am sure Voyager do but it would be nice to see their price charges on their website but I could not find how.

Thank you I went via another page and it did not show the two speeds. As someone else predicted it works out as $109 per month for max speed and that does not include VOIP so would actually increase my cost. I will keep looking

Probably a good time to point out that the Aussies have owned Vocus for a while now, it’s just different Aussies that will own it…

Also that price for Gigabit & phone is pretty good, without constantly jumping between different providers to get joining deals, you'd be hard pressed to do better if cost is your primary motivator.

yes I agree and I am not unhappy with Orcon have been with them since early days. I would prefer a NZ company if I did change but as you say price is pretty sharp across the field so unless something pops up that is clearly better I will stay with Orcon.

Cheap being the operative word.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

2degrees are a good (cheaper) option too if you don't mind CG-NAT which for most people means nothing.

Also MyRepublic are now stating they're the best for streaming and gaming. My goal is to prevent anyone on here from falling for their crap so don't go with them. This is downright not true and not something they can really prove.

I have been looking as well,  having to keep a landline my current deal for 900/400 and landline Orcon is still the cheapest option
