Is Sky Broadband Home Phone ONLY supplied via ports on the ONT? Or is it possible to use phone ports on a router or say an ATA device?

ONT Only - and no they don't release SIP creds

Thanks! :-) I'll have to move the DECT base station to the room with the ONT then.

nztim: Or you can just get integrated wiring job done
Yeah would do... but it's a rental! :-(
Worked OK with previous ISP as there is an ethernet run from ONT room to a central cupboard where the router phone ports then plugged into central phone wire jack in same cupboard. ONT room is at front of house with no other wiring (phone or ethernet) than the one run that is used to feed the main ONT output upstairs to the router cupboard.

Or you could transfer your phone to an independent VOIP provider, use a separate adapter and remove all constraints (and probably save money)

Quite true. I'll see how it goes and consider that if it becomes an issue.

nztim: How hard would it be to pull a second ethernet cable?
I'd say quite tricky. House is 2-storey with a "1.5" level with ONT room and garage at front. At least the house was somewhat 'wired' with ethernet runs to both main bedrooms (1 up, 1 down) and both lounges, (1 up, 1 down) and ONT room, ("1.5" level, small bedroom, maybe intended as office?)
Shouldn't be too hard to get a run up the wall from ONT room into roof space, but from there, would be tricky to get to central cupboard, however I'm yet to have a good look around the roof space.
Just a thought though, if I were to find an accessible phone line in the roof space... could possibly run a phone cable up ONT wall into roof space and tap into that!
Will have to investigate further...
