I switched to 2degrees recently. Their package included a rent-free Fritzbox 7590 which is vastly better than the Asus modem I got from Stuff Fibre a year or 2 ago.

Power companies don't generally do internet very well, nor do My Republic.

Otherwise, I read good things about the Fritzbox on here. I have a Spark Smart modem, and it works quite well.

Trustpower do internet well, they’ve had their own ISP for years, 5th biggest in the country. Mercury own Now which is another ISP.

Spark smart modem is one of the better ISP supplied.
It's also used by BigPipe and Skinny.

Spark haven't supplied Huawei modems for a while now.
Original Spark Smart Modem is Wifi 5.
They've just released Smart Modem 2 which is wifi 6. Not really sure on other details of Smart 2 and whether it is as good as the original.

Size isn't everything - just look at Vodafone.

Trustpower Internet customer service was pretty bad last I checked.

I'm looking to potentially resign with Vodafone.  They have offered me the newer Huawei DN8245X6 router.  They actually didn't know the full model number.  Found it in the picture in the setup guide.  I've asked multiple times, is it a WiFi 6 and been told no.  I've been looking for some proper specs on this unit without luck, then hit this post.  How did you work out is was a WiFi 6 router?

@Davemole It would have the number6 beside the WiFi ICON so as you were advised it is a ' No '

That hasn't stopped Vodafone claiming Wifi 6 on their modem page.

"The Vodafone Modem DN8245 offers the latest WiFi 6 standard, enabling low latency connections that load faster and connect to more devices in your home. "
