Are any RSPs offering Chorus' Home Fibre Starter plan which is set at a lower wholesale cost ($38) for a 50Mbps download / 10Mbps upload connection so long as the RSP offers the plan for no more than $60 incl. GST?

Could be good for older family members who have low usage requirements and don't want to spend a lot on a broadband connection.

This seems to align closely to Vocus Group NZ's Flip brand offering.

Except Flip won't even qualify since their current pricing is $14 per week.

$14 x 52 weeks = $728 per year / 12 months = $60.67 per month which exceeds the retail price cap of $60 per month.

The link you provided says based on 30 day month... so Flip seem to be right on the price cap limit.

You're right! Lucky them that they don't even have to change their pricing structure to qualify for the better margin.

Will be interesting to see if any other RSPs chase this low end of the market now that there is better margin to be made.

It will give some reprieve to those smaller ISPs who don't sell fixed wireless broadband to compete.

@raytaylor Quick glance very misleading saying 4000Mbps/s from $59.95, I know it says ' up to ' but for $59.95 you are not going to get 4000Mbp/s

Yeah, I'd prefer to see all the plan options *before* having to enter full names etc.

@raytaylor Does that mean that Nerdnet  are offering 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hyperfibre?  Nerdnet are not listed at https://hyperfibre.co.nz/providers

We're doing it for $54/mo. CG-NAT at that price point though, not that that should be an issue for the target market of the service
