Neighbour cancelled internet fibre and landline with Spark before signing up with Sky.

The neighbour has Sky fibre up and running but no landline.

There has been protracted discussion with Sky regarding the landline and retaining the number.

Is a cancelled landline number recoverable?

I am about to discuss the situation with my neighbour to see what is happening.

The number will likely be one that Spark control (within their NAD allocation) -

They will need to talk to Spark- but because they are no longer an active customer that could become tricky,

We got hold of a very helpful lady at Spark.

The inactive landline number has been put on hold using a Customer Link Service which will make the number available for porting to Sky in 4 to 8 hours.

I was going to suggest Customerlink as the only way to get the number back into a state where Sky can transfer it to them.

Sky have ported over my neighbours landline number... outgoing calls only...

When my neighbour calls me I see the correct number on my phone.

People calling my neighbour get the following tone sequence    pip pip pip pip pause pip pip pip pause pip pip pip pip pause pip pip pip.... etc.

A search on this tone sequence indicates that the number does not exist.

Has Sky only done half a port over?

Sky have suggested that my neighbour has not connected the phone to the fibre box correctly, but can make outgoing calls.... Chorus fibre area.

Neighbour has been trying to get Sky to fix this since 28 Aug.
