Check if its an actual titled property or just a minor dwelling.

Check you actually know where you live by looking it up at the council to see that the address is what you think it is.

Look around outside for a fibre leadin that may go somewhere that you didnt look like a cupboard or similar.

Check in odd places, under the house, in the roof space, etc.

My house unfortunately also has no ETP, and accessing the ONT requires crawling under the house between the dirt and the floorboards. Not sure how the previous owner convinced Chorus to install it there, but install it they did.

Yep. If the OP flicks me a message with the address, I’ll check the history and see if we can work out what might have happened.

When I had my fibre install done the contractors took pictures to show the finished inside & outside. Are these kept on file?

I don't believe so - they are only retained by the service company for a short time in the event that a reinstatement or workmanship issue arises within the first few months following the installation.

If it is a new build it should be in the garage or somewhere very obvious. In fact new build or not it shouldn't be too difficult to find?

Don't be so sure,

We had the ONT installed in the under stair cupboard, as that's where we ran all the Ethernet cabling to and from,

But the easiest thing to find should be the ETP, which should be external.....

The OP has contacted me and provided the subject address. Our records look correct however Google Streetview clearly shows a significant fire in this duplex back in 2022 and the ONT has not been in use since then, so likely destroyed in said fire. I've advised the OP to ask his/her preferred RSP to issue an order with Chorus for a fibre connection with technician visit citing "missing ONT". The tech can visit, ascertain the level of work required and get the network all reinstalled. As the OP is presumably not responsible for the fire, they will not need to pay for this work - Chorus will likely absorb the cost or could pursue the property owner or their insurer (not my department so I don't know what the outcome of that will be).
