Well this is just anoying i have had slow DSL speeds for about a month now hoping it was just a network problem...but still hasnt improved the speeds vary from 70-140, but i used to get 251. I have used the NOD32 antivirus on thier website and it came clear for any spyware but it did have quite a bit of trojans which are long gone now. The speeds havent improved and this is anoying my dad who pays for it as he uses the net quite abit. I was wondering if any one has had this and fixed it befor thanks in advance.

Hi, first thing is to start with your DSL connection, then work back from there. Can you post the DSL status page from your modem that details line rate, attenuation, S/N etc.

If you're in the sticks like me, then depending what time you're on the broadband will be slow.
i can't even get a decent video session on Youtube without having the video stopping while it loads.
I'm hoping that will change now that we have a new Govt.

I'm on the same plan,($39.95) and my step son checked the speed on 1 of those test sites & it was showing what speed it should have been, can't remember speed but I know i paid for a high speed rate & was thinking of upping it to the $75.00 1 but didn't want to pay that & have same problem with higher speed, wasting my money.
Am seriously thnking of going to wireless if Nats don't follow thru on their promise.

Hi guineapig1, sorry for not getting back earlier, but you dont need to post your IP address, simply interested in the sync rates and if possible the attenuation rates.

Anyhow, based on your DL sync rate of 10Mb/s you should be able to pull 4-5Mb/s if not more with no issues, but are you saying you can only get 70-140kb/s, and in the past you managed only 250kb/s. I suggest you check if your ISP has not placed some throttle on your account, either intentionally or not, if they have not then might I suggest you complain to Slingshot, as the problem does not appear to be in your DSL connection but an issue with your ISP.
