There has been a major Internet outage across all of Kaitaia since Tuesday.

and it's still out over a day later,

The Chorus Outrage map doesn't show any resolution time,

Can anyone shed any insights into what has happened and when it's likely to resolved ?

Thanks

Conc

Looks like it’s a pretty nasty fibre cut…

“Technicians have identified a damaged duct line located near [snipped] Road, where a new sewage line was drilled damaging the 96F to 114F cables. Technicians are on site continuing to work towards remediation actions. The focus of the repairs will be on the 96F area due to the presence of major traffic and a school nearby.”

My views are as unique as a unicorn riding a unicycle. They do not reflect the opinions of my employer, my cat, or the sentient coffee machine in the break room.

Usually if that's the case it means restoration time has not been determined (or is in the process of being determined).

Unfortunately things like cable cuts can be quite difficult to repair depending on the situation, but I'm sure they will be working to get things back up and running as quickly as they can.
