Hi

Does anyone know where I can purchase the fibre lead used  between the ETP and ITP?

Currently doing some renos and will be moving our ONT.

I did contact Enable and they said to contact Humes.. which I thought was a bit odd.

I know I will have to contact Enable to get someone out to splice the new lead.

Thanks in advance.

That's very bizarre that Enable referred you to Humes.

As the LFC is responsible to the ONT, which includes the fibre from ETP-ITP-ONT, this would fall into an internal relocation, which officially needs to be performed by Enable as the LFC. You'll need to contact your ISP to kick this off.

Let Enable manage this End to End including supplying and installing everything

This,

Don't bother your LFC directly-you'll likely land in the wrong department,  let your ISP push it through the correct channel

It sounds like OP wants to pre-run the cable so that it can be run nicely and the walls closed up before the ONT gets moved. Pretty reasonable request IMHO; not too unlike wanting to bury the duct under your driveway yourself, rather than have the duct, fibre, and ONT installed all on the same day...

When I was doing new builds in Chorus-Land we used OptiCat5e. I expect the same would work for Enable. Option two is conduit and draw-wire.

Ah yep, just re-read the original post! My business handles fibre installs across Christchurch and other parts of NZ. If the OP needs someone to install from the ETP to the ONT and take care of the splicing, we can get that sorted.

In chorusland you just go down to Ideal Electrical or JA Russell and get some opticat. You then install it between where you want the new ITP location, and the existing ETP while the walls are open.

When your ready to get it connected, you just call up your ISP and ask for an ONT relocation truck roll.

I am sure Enable would have a similar process where you can pre-run the cable for them at your convenience, assuming they accept opticat can be used, and then their tech just comes and splices it for you.

When we renovated, and had fibre installed for the first time, our sparky ran fibre (hybrid cable?) from ETP location to ONT location.  However, the splicing at either end had to be done by the Chorus contractor.  They also wanted to be able to check the cable run for bends etc prior to doing the splicing etc, so we needed to arrange a visit for that prior to gib and flooring going on.
