I already Ordered the rental version of Gen 4 Starlink but picked up a Gen 2 Actuated Dish and Router off Trademe for $20 from Cash Converters in Upper Hut, Both the Dish and Router are still registered with the previous owner, I'm still waiting in the mail for it to arrive for the serial numbers but from the research done online I've essentially brought a paper weight by the sounds of it. Has anyone had any luck with contacting Starlink for them to either change the registration or contact the previous own to request them to do a transfer?

You need the person who has it attached to their account to release it. I've found no other way to do this. If it was easy to do another way, you could steal other people's dish and get them connected.

You have purchased a brick. Cash Converters may contact the previous owner, if you ask - but they are certainly under no obligation to do so. No - there is no way around this.

I don't know why anyone would be buying a dish second-hand when you can get one for free with a warranty direct from Starlink.
