Hey guys,

I am currently using Woosh, I need to change to some proper broadband, as I was in move for sometime, I chose Woosh but now I have decided I will be in Northshore for year, I am looking at good connection.

I browsed through nzconnection, but I couldn't decide from it.

I am looking for a phone + broadband deal. I can spend up to 100$, I used around 10-20 GB a month.

I am not sure which ISP good in northshore, but out of search, I found ORCON to be good, since there is no contract I can try without any problem.

But before going to ORCON, I just wanted to know if there is something I am missing?

I just wanted to stay away from Vodafone, since I am very happy with their mobile service already, I really don't want to be more happy with their broadband. Wink

But I am still open to any of your advice. I would prefer the fastest service available

Fastest doesn't always mean it is better. Reliability is important too. I would vote for Xtra. They may not be the fastest but very reliable over the past few or two.

Thanks for the reply guys.

Orcon has offered 40$ credit, yet to call others, I will check xtra also.

Where abouts on the Shore are you ?
Im with Orcon in Bayview and havent had any probs (running off the Glenfield exchange on Orcons gear) and a friend down the road has jsut signed up as well and hasnt had any issues either.
Bother getting 8.5-10mpbs down and 8-900k up.
Cost wise its pretty good.

This dilemma can be represented with the "magical" triangle of doom, here is my opinion of Slingshot and xnet:

I wouldn't recommend either.. I'd go with Telecom, Telstra or MaxNet but then I value performance, reliability, gaming ping higher than getting the lowest $ per GB.

How much calling do you do, do you just need a basic landline for local calling / recieving calls or do you do a lot of toll calls?

Landline I use very minimal, Its just for name sake.

I can even think of a Naked DSL if its going to be a better deal.

But my max budget is 100$, so I should decide a provider with this requirement.

Regarding the pic I guess its been blocked by my off proxy

Performance I would be happy with 5mbs if its going to be reliable.

You see I am changing from Woosh, so anything would appeal me.
