I've been helping out a friend get connected to woosh, I've solved all his problems (wasn't even getting a signal to start off with....) so far but now I'm stuck with this:

Connecting trough the WAN Miniport (PPPOE)... UNTIL then this errror message pops up "Errror 772: The remote computer's network hardware is incompatible with the type of call requested."

Any idea to fix this as to what might be the cause?

I spent nearly a whole day getting past that problem when I got Woosh. I think after flashing the modem I got it working. I'm using a router connected to woosh modem to establish the PPPoE connection now. Much more stable setup as when I had the modem connected directly to my PC I had to keep restarting every time I wanted to connect after disconnecting.

Unfortunately (for you and us), these error codes often don't specifically identify the issue.  According to our internal knowledgebase, there are 4 known issues that might lead to that error code.  Here is what it says:-

772 The remote computer's network hardware is incompatible with the type of call requested

Caused by: Poor signal.
Fix: Improve signal.

Caused by: Faulty cable/modem.
Fix: Check for damage on cable/modem, replace if needed.

Caused by: Unflashed modem.
Fix: Flash the modem.

Caused by: Barred Modem.
Fix: Ring the call centre and check if the modem has been barred e.g. it might have been reported stolen.

99% of the time it's the modem that requires flashing. Once you flash the modem, power cycle the modem and try again. Used to strike this a lot with Vista and earlier versions of the Woosh product CD. The solution back then was to use an older Windows XP machine, connect the modem via USB and flash the modem with utility provided on the CD and then try it on the Vista machine using an ethernet lead and PPPoE.
