Unfortunately http://www.nzconnection.net/ is down so I can't research there :(

I am on the Xtra Pro plan (40GB) atm.   We use between 30-50 gb per month so if we go over, I get stung badly.

I want to move to a provider with a less painful overage charge.  However I want to keep my phone calling with Telecom.  Orcon and Snap seem to have accommodating plans.  Is there anyone else I should look at?

have you considered Telecom's new Big Time plan?

$20 cheaper thant Pro, but unlimited downloading.

P2P is shaped though (heavily it seems!), which may or may not bother you.

I don't mind p2p being shaped, but i am concerned that the daytime download speeds will be too low. Comments on the forums suggest that daytime speeds are pretty bad.

What's the reason you want to keep your phone calling with Telecom? You know you can keep your number if you change to another provider right...

Almost every ISP charges $10 more for ADSL when your phone is not with them.

Another alternative if you want to stick with Telecom is their "business" broadband which I know several people are using at home for the lower overage charges.

THe main problem with the Telecom business plans is the 2 year contract. Otherwise it looks ok. Needing to stay with Telecom for phones is due to instructions from the wife. Given that she thinks I spend too much time on the internet already, it's not something I want to raise with her :).
