I'm living in Wellington Central but not on a street that has Telstra cable, and was looking at Xnet etc naked DSL plans. Where are they available? Or is it nationwide? There seems to be no mention of locations on signup pages.

It is available everywhere, however if you are on a 'rural exchange', which does not necessarily mean that you live in a rural area, it can be cheaper to get a phone line and broadband plan (not likely to apply in Wellington central).

Having just shifted from Xnet to Snap I certainly don't recommend Xnet, however your situation may make Xnet a better choice, particularly if you are a heavy user of data.

I find Xnet suits my needs, but I note that others have complaints. If you want a list of naked providers of DSL, or even providers of naked DSL, go to http://www.nzconnection.net/Internet_Service_Providers
