Those numbers look fine to me. Are you sure you are connecting at adsl2+? what makes you think you are?
It looks like your connecting at max adsl1 speeds. In your modem it should say what standard it is connected at.
Your modem is adsl2+ certified? Has the latest firmware? (if its an old xtra supplied dlink 502t gen2 (or whatever model it was) then you need to upgrade the firmware). Your cabinet your connected to is adsl2+?  Check here
If you answered yes to all the above then something isnt right.

The modem is all sweet, as its the same I was using at my old place. I told my modem to connect only ADSL2 so I assumed that what is connecting at.
Going by the exchange map it is ADSL2 upgraded, but looking at my atenuation I assume I must me connecting to a cabinet that isnt yet listed as the exchange must be 3k away.

With a Line Attenuation of 10db, i would expect you to get 20Mbit+, assuming the cabinet is ADSL2+ capable.

The router is Netgear DG834g, but like I said I had no problems at my old place (20Mbit+ speeds). The ISP is Vodafone on there ultimate plan. Although i'm in there RED zone they could not put me on there red network as there were plans to cabinetise the area in 2010 sometime.
Now I'm guessing that we are connectect to a cabinet but it only has ADSL gear in it?

Sorry, I should have clarified that, all of the new whisper cabinets being rolled out are AFAIK ADSL2+.

I'm in Hobson Road, Paremoremo, North Shore City. Going from the map, my road is not covered by a cabinet.

With 10dB attenuation you should get near on full ADSL2+ speed. I would suggest you have your house wiring checked. Even though the attenuation may be low its only a single frequency loss measurement, if you have extensive star wiring (even with filters fitted at each phone jack) then the upper frequencies can all get corrupted. Only fix is to isolate out the house wiring with a central filter and in so doing create a clean single transmission line run to the modem.

Cheers
Cyril
