Hey there,

I'm moving down to Wellington this year for uni and will be staying in a Hostel in Central Welly (Willis St.) and bascially i want a rough idea of the speeds i can expect on a woosh wireless plan as well as the latency.

Sadly i can't have a wired connection so leaves me with little option but to use wireless and since both vodafone and telecom charge the earth for their wireless services it seems woosh is the only option.

So what download and upload speeds could i expect on an avarage day?
What latency could i expect on connection?

Thanks in advance for any replies to questions

Gasp also works over CafeNet (according to their site) so have a look at cafenet.co.nz to see if there is coverage near where you are staying.
Only downside I can see is 256k international

256kbit download speed for international yuck, Gasp hasn't changed that speed limit on either plan nor the data cap on the "everyday" plan for about 4-5 years.

You'd be better off on mobile broadband speed wise but probably not price wise and maybe not latency wise.

I guess it would depends on mostly what you do on the net.

How about using XT Mobile 8GB a month for $69.95 on a 24 month term (4GB + 4GB Free doubleup)
