I am renovating the house and are looking at centralising the phone, adsl etc and have gathered lots of info on here to proceed (thanks sbiddle & cyril7)
the bit I am a little stuck with the old school phone wires that come into the house. I think I have tracked down the main wires and it seems they come from the power pole and into the house that way. Single wire as opposed to the three power ones that come into the house further down)
This wire then leads from the roof to a bit if a junction box on the wall and then under the house and back up again into a standard 2 wire BT box. there are three other phone points which then splits off to 3 other extensions from the main jack.
I am unsure however on what to do with this junction box?
can I just run this wire into a master soket that I put in my garage and then run an ADSL splitter off this with the intention to have the standard phone go to the patch pannel.
anyway I have attached a pic as the wire to me looks more like power than phone but its th eonly wire that comes into the main phone socket that comes from outside the house..
