Hi everyone,

I am actually thinking of changing ISP since I recently experienced (very) slow speeds to US and consequently even worse to Europe.

In fact I work from home and I need a decent speed (at least more than 2Mbs constant download) to Europe where I have dedicated servers.

After reading some posts here I understood that there are some "premium" ISP here that charge a little bit more (fair enough) for a better quality service. I'm looking at ADSL2+ services as I don't have the budget for a dedicated line and I don't live in a cable area.

Those premiums ISP seems to be TelstraClear, Inspire, Actrix, Maxnet and Telecom Business.

If you are a customer of the ISP cited above, could you please tell me what speed do you get to Roubaix in France via speedtest.net.

Even if speedtest is not always entirely reliable a telling the real speed, it is an interesting starting point..

Thanks for you time!

MaX

Telecom, my Ping has been suffering lately, think someone has turned my interleaving back on :(

How much do you get to Auckland? i think with anything over 14mbp you'll get about the same as below:

Total Home with Adventure at the moment, was on Big time before that(with slower speeds) and was on telecom business 60 for a couple of months, same speed on Adventure/Business apart from the interleaving issue my line appears to be suffering from

hmm not to flash here, TelstraClear Cable

I know cable is not an option for you, but I think that the slow international speed will be your enemy, more than the link to you local exchange

Telecom 9.30 Friday evening, got 1.8 first test, this second test:
...and 1.7 third test, 3.04 fourth.  Quite variable, but have been happy with it, and got it primarily as i was advised that for Europe, Telecom, Telstra and Maxnet were the best.

Thanks very much guys for giving me some speed tests, this is really helping me deciding where to go in the near future.

Locally I can't get any more than 3Mbps since I'm something like 3.7Km from the exchange but my area will be cabinetized in september, I should have much better speeds then. However if I can get even 3Mps to Europe stable during peak times, I'm happy.

I have tested the speed on a line we have at the Uni (research network) this is a fibre connection with Telstra and the speed is great, however this is not very indicative since the priority between dedicated links customers and residential must be very different...

I'm not sure if I'll go with Telecom Business, or Telstra, I heard that Maxnet do shape their traffic and I prefer to have full speed and shape the traffic myself with cfosspeed...

From Melbourne I get a respectable 3.5Mbps to London.

Which is odd cos I get 2.5Mbps to Auckland LOL

The only thing "premium" about TelstraClear these days is the price.

10/2 cable.

In fact I can see that TelstraClear does not have good service to Europe, that is really unfortunate as I like their pricing structure... Thanks for telling me.

Right now only Telecom with their Global Gateway have a link to Europe that is not too crappy...
