Hi Folks,

Firstly, is there a open source (open-wrt/dd-wrt) type project for adsl modems?

I am looking for a adsl modem that supports remote syslog and console logins, as I want to more carefully monitor the connection.

It does not need to have wifi, I have a seperate wifi router.

Cheers!
Stuart.

Your best setup would be to use either one of two modems, plus a router. I am not aware of an ADSL router that does what you ask for. But I have never looked for one either.

Either, a Draytek 120 or a Dynalink RTA1320, bridged with a Linksys WRT54GL.

Have a look at the Routertech website, there custom firmware is compatible with a lot of the D-Link units readily available in NZ. I'm using it with a 502T which is generally considered a terrible modem, but with the above firmware its pretty solid.

Not sure about any modems/routers that do that, but the cisco 877 does. ;)
They pop up on trademe occasionally, I scored mine for $300, even came with the RAM/flash upgrade in it.
