Wanting one of our company's remote sites to benefit from ADSL2 speeds but their Allied Telesyn router/modem does not support it. So instead of paying for a firmware update or forking out for a new AT router, I thought I could put a cheap modem that does PPP IP extension (such as the Dynalink RTA1320) in front of it and let the router still do the routing/firewall, etc.
We use router to router VPNs so that they can use company database. Only issue I can think of would this affect the company VPNs that we have in place?
If anyone has experience in this, advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
