1 Most ISP plans are FS/FS meaning your only as fast as your line can handle.

2 Your DREAMING if you want an unlimited plan for $50, bandwidth costs. It's people like you who download as much as they could because they could, who got big time removed.

Lastly the 20gb Telecom Plan is capped, so once you use your 20gb you are reduced to dial up speeds.

I pay $229 a month for a 25Mbps/2Mbps 120GB plan with Telstraclear. It's a good plan...

Yes, I know it sounds like sarcasm. My point is that good things will come at a cost. A cheap "unlimited" plan will have limits at some points, and then people will complain and it will no longer be a "good plan".

Raise your silly $50 limit and your options open up considerably.

Yes, you will be reduced to dial up speeds if your combined usage (both upload and download) exceeds your limit.

i don't want to do math for you but how come a telecom adventure+basic phone line cost you $200/month? that is 59.95+43?

Slingshot'a all you can eat plan its ok. but have it cons: sign up for 2 years, no free modem, speed could be 700Kbps when downloading though, since you only asking for less than 100KB/S.

Sadly in NZ you would have to pay as what Freitasm is paying for to get a "decent" broadband not $50...

The slingshot "unlimited" plan is nowhere near the "700kbps" you specify.
- even taking kbps as it really is (rather than kBps which I expect you actually mean)

Bittorrent is terrible 24/7 (<20kBps, usually <10kBps), HTTP downloads sink below 20kBps during peak hours, and won't exceed 200kBps any time of the day.

so if you dont use torrents, what do you download that uses 219gb in a month?
and why do you want a 20gb upload?

you get what you pay for

I find that quote hard to believe. I was caped on that adventure plan and was experiencing dial up for 3 weeks, Yet I was still able to use up 8 GB during those 3 weeks? It is as if the the amount of we are paying for is not relevant to our needs, because I really don't want to be paying almost $100 per month just to watch some videos online.

I am in the same situation as the original poster, but I never downloaded the amount he did... A 30 - 40 gb plan would be a decent amount for me to use. For my youtube addiction haha. And I am finding it hard to adjust to the caped broadband life after Big Time.

My ideal plan right now would be a plan that is 35GB for $60. Is anyone a plan/ or knows about a plan that is similar to this? Or is my hopes unrealistic?Undecided

How about Slingshot 15gb with a 20gb data pack added for $65

Or Vodafone 30gb for $90 incl line rental (in the red zone)
