Hello, first off, my normal connection is normally 7.2 / 832  last night for the very first time i connected at 8.1 / 832 but now since i turn my modem off at night its back to normal. I decided to check the Telecom website and it now says my address is near an exchange and now has been upgraded to adsl2+

What is happening? How long will it take to be put on adsl2? I called telecom Broadband Help desk and he said could take 3 - 5 months to be put on a adsl2 profile? Would he be right?

here are my line stats and sorry if it does not come up right.

Uptime:
0 days, 0:29:20

G.992.1 annex A

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:

any help would be very much appreciated :)

Chances are they are testing the gear.

Go into your routers webpage and try manually set it to ADSL2+

If that doesn't work, switch it back to multimode and wait for a couple of weeks when they should be done.

Thanks for your reply Boby55. I know you can set adsl2 manually on most Modems, however I have the Telecom Thompson Wireless, I don't think it has that option.

I will wait it out and see how the change goes.

cheers:)

PS. Once speeds have incressed I will post here for other people in Pukekohe.

I wonder about the accuracy of the telecom wholesale map with regard to Pukekohe. It says I am scheduled to be cabenitised in Dec 2011 but according to Orcon we already have been. I have also found The PUK/BM cabinet up near our place which is supposedly not due to be installed until December 2011.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Maps site is always a few months behind, they have been completing cabinets ahead of schedule. Check the Chorus site for the "cabinet notices".
