I'm using Woosh since Nov. last year, it was a bonus that the Woosh transmission aerial is a direct line from my house in the city, so full signal first time every time.
But when I go to work on Brougham Street... I just have to wondering around the street to look for a signal spot so I can check email. :(
I tried being on the move, literately, surfing while riding in a car from Latimar Square to Brougham Street. The signal drop, modem disconnect, when turn into Kingsley, then connect up again in Gasson. If you sit on the side of the street on Brougham, near Watham Road end, you can get a reasonable signal, but don't move. Just a single sneeze drops your Woosh signal.
I would have thought they will put more transmission boxes in the business and industrial area.
Then test Woosh out in Riccarton, Riccarton Mall (Westfield), got the best signal in the area. Signal still good when we go further out to the end of Riccarton, but once we past it... Sockburn is a nut! No respond at all.
Don't want to think what it's going to be like in Sumner. Probably the same as Sockburn.
What's it like in other area?
I also think that Woosh PCMCIA card has a slot for SIM card, wonder if I put a Voda sim card in, will it allow me to use both Voda 3G in the area Woosh has no service. Since, I also have one of the Voda PCMCIA card. Make it easy for myself, not to have to carry 2 cards everywhere. :)
