Hi all,

I have a brother in Auckland who has setup a Telecom Business plan for his home office. He is less than 1k from the nearly installed cabinet but was wondering if it is normal for the connection to drop in speed by half the normal download speed during the day.

Normally happens around lunch time. Is this normal for other users? I would be thinking its more of an issue with the network as opposed to any of his equipment.

He has done an isolation test ..... tried another modem and the condition remains the same. His snyc speed is normally quite good around 18 - 21 MB/sec . Slow down normally goes down around 7-9 M/Bit

Have suggested he get a Data tech out to install a central splitter and check the condition of the lines, any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

I'd be happy with that speed at 12pm on a normal day. I synch at the same speed and typically experience similar decreases in speed during the day. I would say it's normal.
