Just recently changed our modem at work to a dynalink (model RTA1320) supplied through Orcon. We are an Xtra/telecom account user and our existing Dlink died. The orcon unit was a freebee. Everything appears ok, but I can't load a certain webpage www.gets.govt.nz or www.med.govt.nz
I have checked my firewall on Norton and can't see any restrictions on that.
There are no other websites we have a problem with (to date), only this one and the problem started when we changed our router to the Dlink.

I have pinged the website in question and no response. The website is up as I have checked from home PC (ihug). So it looks to me like there is something/setting on the Dlink that requires attention!

Any advice would be most welcome.

Cheers
John

Hi what DNS servers does the dynalink have, I cannot remember off the top of my head where it shows it but I think in the basic status overview page where you end up directly after logging into the modem.

For Orcon it should be 60.234.1.1 and 60.234.2.2

Looks like a subnet mask issue. Both of those websites have 192.x.x.x addresses and if the OP has a local subnet mask of 255.0.0.0 and is also in the 192.x.x.x address range, then the websites will be inaccessible.

Actually I am on Xtra, but the Dynalink was Orcon supplied. The DNS displayed are 202.27.158.40 and 202.27.156.72

The Dynalink does have a subnet mask or 255.0.0.0. So what should I change this to? Cheers J

Solved. Thanks Kraven. Changed subnet to 255.255.255.0. and it now works.
