Hey I am with Telecom, I am wanting to do a line quality test on http://freeola.com/line-test/ and other website's, I am getting an error saying that I have a firewall, though I dont have one enabled that I know of, (I dont have a firewall on my router enabled) I have a D-Link DSL G604T, Also I have a macbook running snow leopard. I have also tried this at my fathers house and he has a Thompson router. (Router/Modem I get confused which is which)
Hi, there are more hands on things to check line quality, like your modem itself, go into the web interface of your modem and go to the DSL status page, this will tell you about the connection health.
While talking about your line and modem, its very old, these old D-links are not the best thing out there by a country mile, have you concidered upgrading the modem, a basic TP-Link8840 will do much better for around $70 although it has not wireless, you need to pay more like $120
Hey that site is probably a good test for IP traffic quality, such as jitter and latency, but its not a "line" test. However, you just need to get UDP packets through the NAT router so there are many ways to do that. I didn't see a port number there for port forwarding, but you might be able to find another way.
