Hey guys,
I've been on here a couple of times and you are such great help, so decided to come back again!
I'm moving into a new place next year and have to choose an ISP to go with. I'm located in Dunedin and pretty sure we don't get Fibre where I'm staying [Could be wrong as it's close to campus but out of the CBD]
Anyway, we have four people to cater for, two of us are into gaming and youtube, just the usual stuff, and the other two are into surfing the internet, maybe watching movies or whatver.
So... my question is this; what will be the best ISP for us to join up with?
I've been contemplating Actrix and Xnet, although since Actrix double happy has stopped it's not as appealing. We don't really have a price limit but don't fancy spending more than about $130ish a month all up for internet.
I've been with Xtra, and never really liked them. I was with Actrix last year and found them excellent. I was with Snap this year and found it good due to the unlimited bandwith and relatively good speed but a little unreliable at times.

Any help is much appreciated guys.

If you want something that's fast, low latency and business grade ADSL (if you don't mind paying a bit extra) our customers always say they are over-impressed with our service, check out the plans at http://www.nzconnections.net.nz/Unleash and if you like what you see either give me a ring on 0800 750 250 or flick me a DM on Geekzone.

Otherwise if you would like something a bit cheaper, with no guarantee of speed, I suggest you go to Snap, they have good tech support + pricing.

A good rule of thumb with NZ Broadband is you get what you pay for (Just search up Slingshot on Geekzone and you will see what I mean)

i would still recommend Snap , been with them 2 years and never had to call them about connection problems and lately with been upgraded to ASDL 2 , i can watch youtube with no buffering, download torrents at the same time and let my son play WoW all in peak times with no hit in performance, so am willing to pay slightly more to do so.

Common sense is not as common as you think.
