I hate how new zealand is so backward in broadband capabilities. In the USA broadband is their default. Xtra is a rip off, orcon and slingshot just have bad antivirus and connections and ihug is the only decent service. I hate to sound like a grump but its true

So do I.

In the USA broadband is their default.

With so many potential customers in the USA, its no surprise. Im sure if we had 300 million citizens, our offerings would surpass the USAs (it all comes down to population density, number of customers, and ROI).

orcon and slingshot just have bad antivirus

It is unreasonable to rely on your ISP for antivirus. Its all a crock. They monitor your email, but nothing else, which means you still need decent AV software anyway, the same software that will also protect your email, making ISP based email antivirus a crock of marketing cr@p really. (and a last ditch effort at saving their bandwidth and server CPU time from clients who dont protect their machines).

ihug is the only decent service.

Why is it the only decent service? Most people who are not with iHug might differ with your opinion, especially those using TCLs cable broadband service. (edit: which i never have, but people who do seem to love the service, and its 10Mbps speeds)

I hate to sound like a grump but its true

I heard rumours that from next week, www.grumpzone.co.nz will redirect to the Geekzone forums.
